2XMMi Interface by the Observatory of Strasbourg (credit)

  • Database content: The SSC catalogue DB is a repository for the 2XMMi X-ray source catalogue and associated pipeline products, as compiled by the XMM-Newton Survey Science Centre. Pipeline products include:
    • Data from the EPIC cameras
    • Data from the RGS cameras
    • Archival catalogue sources correlated with observed X-ray sources.
A complete description of the catalogue parameters can be found in the user guide.

  • Source Idenfications have been computed locally in Strasbourg by F.X.Pineau:
    • 2XMMi has been cross-correlated with the SDSS6 in addition with all 202 others catalogues
    • Probalilities of identification with SDSS6, USNO-A, USNO-B and 2MASS sources have been computed and can be used to select X-ray sources

Quick Start:
  1. Click on the Select 2XMMi Sources button on the banner.
  2. Put 3c449 as identifier in the Coord/Name field
  3. Click on the apply button on the left of the Coord/Name field. The query is then reported on the text area on the page bottom.
  4. Click on the red Submit Query

    • The catalogue has been constructed by the XMM-Newton Survey Science Centre (SSC) on behalf of ESA.
    • The XCATDB has been built with Saada 1.5.0 by the SSC team of Strasbourg. This interface has been designed by L. Michel
    • The metadata describing XMM-Newton EPIC spectra according to the IVOA Simple Spectral Access Protocol has been provided by Jai Won Kim of the German Astrophysical Virtual Observatory (GAVO) and Frank Haberl of the Max-Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics. GAVO is supported by a grant of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under contract 05AC6VHA.
